There are some basic things that your team can do to check out recovery from the adversarial network conditions your device is going to encounter with your fielded IOT device. Ask your team:
- Have you simply removed the network (pulled the cable, turned off the wifi router, pulled the antenna, etc.) and restored it? Do we get back on our feet? Does the back-end behave properly?
- Do we test this on each software release? The consequences are pretty high and the issues can be either at the device, cloud app, or network element.
- Do we test this on a critical event like software update?
